Jason is a guitarist with electric and classical training and 30 years performing

experience. He started playing the guitar at the age of nine.
By the time he was 14 he had his own band performing his own original songs.
In his late teens, he came second in the Daily Telegraph's National Young Jazz Competition. He then went on to study classical guitar at the Royal Welsh College Of Music. Whilst at college, he studied with classical guitar legends such as John Mills, John Williams, David Russell, Jorge Morel and Eleftheria Kotkia.
Since then he has performed electric guitar in rock bands, soul bands,
pop bands, jazz bands and country bands in festivals theatres and clubs
all over the country.
As a session guitarist, Jason has backed musicals and established
artists such as Bucks Fizz, Sonia, Ray Quinn and Jackie Graham.

He currently performs as a solo classical guitarist and has his own electric guitar stage show. He is also an experienced teacher and teaches the guitar at various music schools around the country, in between playing with the Sensational Soul Band in which the musicianship is really high.

Daniel was drawn to the bass guitar as soon as he became interested in music and now has over a decade of performing experience. He has played a wide range of genres but specialises in blues trios and function/party bands. He has also occasionally worked on musicals as part of the pit band. He is looking forward to his first outings with the Sensational Soul Band and says ‘the bass guitar plays such an important part in these songs and I can’t wait to play them with soul!. I am very much drawn to the very high standard these guys play at & being a part of The Sensational Soul Band will be a lot of fun

Martin has played drums and percussion for quite a few years now, playing in all sorts of bands over the years.  He has a particular love of the Soul & Tamla sounds and sees his role in the band as the driving force that delivers the pulse to generate the whole 'Sensational Soul Bands' sensational authentic Soul & Motown sound. Martin plays in another excellent local soul band also fom whom we mix & match players occasionally. A sensational drummer all round who is the driving force of the Sensational Soul Band & a really nice genuine fella too.

BORN in Nottingham, Tim’s early years were spent in Sutton-on-Trent where he went to the Sutton-on-Trent primary school.
He then went to Wellow House School before going to the Kings School in Grantham when the family moved to Long Bennington.
His Grandma was a pianist in her own ragtime band, and his father could play and showed Tim a few tunes that he would relentlessly bash out on the piano at home.
His parents signed him up for piano lessons at Wellow House School and Tim took to it like the proverbial fish to water – you couldn’t get him off the piano (to the extent that if we went away on holiday he would play air-piano the back seat of the bus, window sills, absolutely anything he could get his hands on!)

The first musical inspiration was the music teacher at Wellow, Mr Kay, but the main playing inspiration was at Kings School where he continued lessons with music teacher and St Wulfram’s organist, Nick Kerrison.

At that time he was playing mostly Bach and Beethoven, which Tim sometimes uses in his sound checks with The Sensational Soul Band.  That is quite funny.

Tim joined his first band, Drainpipe, playing keyboards aged around 15, and did a gig at Ropsley with them.

Since then he has played in Bopping Bertram and the Legless Tortoise band, Money From America, Durban Poison, Cliff Rescue and The Helicopters, Nervus Rex. I like playing with The Sensational Soul Band because it is loads of fun & we get food & drink @ most gigs. Chris Kamara Soul Makes sure we all get looked after.  Tim has done the odd cabaret gig across the country also.

The Soul Time - Party Time makes a great change, but Tim plays keyboards in all genres. Soul & Motown or whatever comes his way.

That's talent.

Chris Kamara Soul described Martin as one of the best Bass players he has performed with. Martin has the extra groove line most other bass players don't have, that why he is used by quite a few Soul/Motown & Funk bands. He is quite a player & is an asset to The Sensational Soul Band whenever he plays. You will be able to see Martin on a few of The Sensational Soul Band's Tribute to the Songs Of Motown & Show Theatre Tour In 2019. He also performs with the band as our wedding/function & corporate Bass Player.

CHRIS KAMARA SOUL (DRUMS/VOCALS) Chris occasionally sings from the drums in his 3 piece band called " THE SOUL PARTY " which is a cut down version of The Sensational Soul Band. Playing drums from the age of 14, Chris prides himself on being what he describes as a proper Soul Drummer providing the proper authentic tempos required for the exact soul grooves on his 70s APK Premier Drum kit. Great drums for a Soul & Motown authentic sound. Enquiries for " The Soul Party " are being taken on the SSB band Line on 07597 580517 or by emailing

LEAH JADE (BACKING VOCALS & VOCALS)  FOR LARGE WEDDINGS & FUNCTIONS - THE SENSATIONAL SOUL BAND - Leah has worked the clubland circuit for the last 5 years learning her craft as an entertainer and the standard of her performance`s show she has learnt well and is a great solo artist in her own right, she is also a great songwriter too who not only writes for herself but for other recording artists too.  Leah Jade is featured on the channel 4 documentary Skeg Vegas and was followed by channel 4 on her solo gigs. Leah Jade sings mainly up to date modern such as Beyonce, Rita Ora, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheran etc... she also sings classic Soul & Motown and is a great asset to The Sensational Soul Band, performing authentic backing vocals and numbers in her own right. Also Duetting with Chris Kamara Soul on sensational Soul & Motown songs @ weddings and larger functions & corporate parties.

Bradley is a part of the Sensational Brass & is a great asset to the Sensational Soul Band providing authentic brass to The Sensational Soul Band's sound. One for the girlies. He is a very nice fella too & is a pleasure to work with on full band gigs. Bradley started playing at the age of 7, he was a member of the National Youth Brass Band & has played at the BBC Proms. Very much a car enthusiast who hopes to switch from working in finance during the day to being a mechanic. But Bradley's first love is Music.

Dave is a music teacher in the day & is a Great Sax Player, complimenting the Sensational Soul Band with the Sensational Brass on larger gigs.
